You must try these

This weekend has been one full of sweets! I usually try to be good and lay off of them as much as possible (yeah, right), but I discovered these two things in Target yesterday that are too good not to share. Be warned though, they are addicting.

Now, I'm not really a twinkie fan, but who can resist this childhood favorite that is only 100 calories! The problem is I could probably eat 5 packages, not just one. These are very good. Now if only Hostess would make Ding Dongs complete with foil wrapping in a 100 calorie package I would be in heaven!!!
And the second weak sweet tooth moment of my Target trip, the Pretzel M&Ms. I saw an ad in a magazine for these so when I found them in the checkout lane, I was sold. Not because I eat M&Ms on a regular basis, but because I love the pretzel and chocolate combo.
Now next time you go to Target you will be looking for these too. Seriously, pick them up.

Brazilian Wax Discussion

My aunt made this and made my day in doing so. The story goes that Terah was advised to get a Brazilian wax for her honeymoon. My sister and I advised her NOT to get one! We weren't really discussing that topic in these pictures, but I think these photos convey our thoughts anyway! Thanks for the good laugh Aunt Benny!

Hello Summer + Oklahoma

This is the first summer in a while that I've truly had that, awww...it's summer feeling. That feeling means vacations, hot weather, swimming, ice cream, fun activities, and really nothing but fun. My summer was only 4 weeks this year, but all I can think about is next summer when it really will be SUMMER for 2 whole months! Two of my four weeks were spent in Oklahoma. Brendan and I had so much fun seeing all our family and friends.

My dad (or Happy as the boys call him) came home one night and told the three boys he had a surprise for them if they ate all their food and behaved well. The surprise...swimming and ice cream! Brendan was really afraid of the pool at first, but after a little while he mustered up enough courage to go down the slide. I think swim lessons are in his near future.

Little miss Mary Cate sat pool side with Grams. She is the cutest and best baby ever!
I wanted to take a picture of Happy with all three boys, but this is the best I got. That cat was the friendliest cat I have ever seen!
This was Brendan's first ice cream sundae. He saw the cherry on top when we went through the Braums drive thru and talked about it for days and days. So he finally got the ice cream with the cherry on top. Cheers!

Sticky caramel sundaes meant one thing, sticky messy boys in need of a bath. Here they are making scary monster faces.
Play dough on the patio.
Brendan even got to hold Mary Cate. He was very fond of her. Brendan said he wants a baby sister "just like J.J.'s".
Here's my cousin Terah, the bride, at the hair salon. At the end of our stay in Oklahoma we drove to St. Louis to be part of Terah's wedding. She was a beautiful bride and I'm so happy for her! Every bride needs a little Starbucks.
Leaving the salon, complete with bride and bridesmaid hair. I'm not wearing makeup yet in the picture so please excuse my colorless face. Thank goodness for makeup!
More pics from our trip to come!

Memorial Day

On Monday Brendan and I met up with my friend Liz and her kids at the park. It is just starting to get hot here (thank goodness we've held out this long), so after about an hour we were done.
Brendan had a lot of fun playing with Adam. He's got a thing for horses right now so this toy was perfect for him to play on.
Two crazy boys having fun. Brendan's cheeks were bright red when we left. It must have been from all the running around in the field. Good thing we left when we did.

Later in the evening Justin, Brendan, and I went to the Southern Highlands Memorial Day Celebration. There were TONS of people there. I had no idea it would be sooooo crowded. There were some fun things for kids to do, but the lines were like being at Disneyland! So Brendan took two trips through the water slides, got a snow cone, balloon animal and that was it! We waited in line a while for that darn balloon animal that popped later in the evening and caused some serious tears. I did, however, meet a very nice mom and her daughter who will be going to my new school in the fall. It's really fun to be part of this community now. By the time we had finished doing all of that we had just enough time to grab some food and sit down to eat while the fireworks were going off.

This picture shows just a small part of how many people were there. Justin estimated between 4,000-5, 000!
Those are our HOA fees high in the sky. Pretty, huh?
Me and my ragamuffin little boy. Yes, we both look a little worse for wear but we certainly had fun!
